Cloudy, yellowed or hazy headlights can make your vehicle look older and reduce the amount of light reaching the road at night. At Kiwi French Automotive, we provide professional headlight restoration in Slacks Creek to help improve lens clarity, visibility and the appearance of your vehicle. Over time, exposure to Queensland sun, road grime and weather can cause the clear outer surface of plastic headlights to oxidise. This often leaves headlights looking dull, discoloured or scratched—even when the bulbs themselves are still working correctly. When Should You Restore Your Headlights? It may be time to book a headlight restoration if you notice: Yellowing, cloudiness or fading on the headlight lenses Reduced visibility when driving at night Headlights that appear dim despite having good bulbs Surface scratches, dull patches or a hazy finish Your vehicle is being prepared for sale or a roadworthy inspection Professional Headlight Restoration Headlight restoration is a cost-effective alternative to replacing complete headlight assemblies when the lenses have become dull or oxidised. Our team will inspect the condition of your headlights and recommend the most suitable solution for your vehicle. Restoring cloudy headlight lenses can help improve light output and visibility, while also giving the front of your vehicle a cleaner, fresher appearance. Why Clear Headlights Matter Your headlights play an important role in helping you see—and helping other road users see you—when driving at night, in rain or in poor conditions. Dull lenses can reduce the effectiveness of your headlights and make everyday driving less comfortable. If your headlights are looking cloudy or no longer lighting the road as clearly as they should, bring your vehicle to Kiwi French Automotive in Slacks Creek. We can assess the condition of the lenses and help restore their clarity.

A 2018 Fiat Ducato came to Kiwi French Automotive in Slacks Creek with a concerning pedal issue—the pedal was travelling all the way to the floor. Our technicians carried out an initial inspection and identified the master cylinder as requiring replacement. Once replaced, the issue was resolved and the vehicle was returned to the customer. However, the Ducato later returned with the same concern. With the vehicle back in the workshop, our team completed further diagnosis to find the underlying cause. This time, the fault was traced to the slave cylinder, which is housed within the gearbox. Because of its location, replacing the slave cylinder requires gearbox removal and is a more involved repair. Identifying the source of a hydraulic issue can sometimes take more than one stage of diagnosis, particularly where several components within the system may be contributing to the symptom. At Kiwi French Automotive, we take the time to investigate recurring vehicle issues thoroughly and provide clear advice on the repairs required. If your Fiat Ducato has a pedal travelling to the floor or you are experiencing clutch or hydraulic concerns, book an inspection with our Slacks Creek team.

Engines that operate through internal combustion rely on large amounts of clean air to ensure the fuel burns properly and generates the power needed to drive the vehicle. At Kiwi French Automotive in Slacks Creek, we understand how vital it is to keep your car's air filter in good condition as part of protecting your engine's health. Your engine requires extremely clean air to function efficiently. Dirt, dust, and other particles entering the engine can cause serious damage. That’s where the air filter comes into play. It ensures the air entering the combustion chambers is clean, shielding key engine components such as the pistons and cylinders from wear and damage. Why Replace Your Air Filter? Save on Fuel Costs: Your engine requires the correct balance of fuel and air to run efficiently. A clogged air filter restricts airflow, causing your engine to run inefficiently – often referred to as ‘running rich.’ This not only puts additional stress on your engine but can also increase fuel consumption by up to 10%. No one likes spending more on petrol than necessary! Protect Your Engine: Over time, air filters become clogged and weaker, increasing the risk of damage. A damaged or overly dirty air filter can allow harmful particles to enter the engine, potentially leading to expensive repairs. Benefits of Replacing Your Air Filter: Extends the life of your engine Improves fuel efficiency Reduces vehicle emissions At Kiwi French Automotive, we always check the condition of your air filter during every full car service. Whether it’s a major or minor service, or one that follows your manufacturer’s handbook or logbook guidelines, you can trust us to keep your engine running smoothly.

Keep your engine healthy with clean air filters. Improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and extend engine life. Visit Kiwi French Automotive for expert maintenance and reliable car servicing.
